Christmas Card - O Antiphons of Advent 7 card set

Following Gaudete Sunday, we are introduced to the ancient titles for the Messiah in the O Antiphons.  We are accustomed to these titles from familiar tune of “O Come O Come Emmanuel.”  These seven antiphons, or responses date back to the eighth century and are included in the Liturgy of the Hours’ Evening Prayers from December 17-23 as well as in the Gospel acclamation during this time.
